We are having an extremely hard time finding more stock of some of the thick nesses. From what I'm now hearing the shortage is starting to end. The pricing of these products when we can find them are increasing and may continue to do so (although I have started seeing signs of it leveling off). We are being forced to raise our prices accordingly. If we sell out of stock on any these products I will list it as out of stock below, we do search for more all the time.

Baltic Birch Plywood

This is a very nice wood for the scroll saw. It is a very strong plywood even after cutting your fretwork. All plies are birch. Inner plies are virtually void free. Edges finish very nicely. Light in color. It has an interior glue. Good one side, oval plugs or patches may be found on the back face. As this is an import plywood it is manufactured & sold using the metric system. The US measuring system of inches shown in the thickness below is very close but not Exact, but within a few thousands of an inch.

Below is a listing of our Hardwood Plywood
All the different species of hardwood plywood is manufactured using about the same process. All the 1/8" & 1/4" is started using what is called a veneer core. This core is a wood product almost white is color and it has no voids. A piece of veneer is then glued to each side of the veneer core. Using the species of choice.
For example: Red Oak plywood good one side will have a nice red oak veneer on the front face and a different species on the back (usually birch or a lower grade of red oak). The back face on a good one side plywood will be a lower grade veneer and can have small defects in it. This plywood works great on projects where you can not see the back. A Red Oak Plywood good two sides will have a nice Red Oak veneer on both sides. Great for projects where the back side can be seen.
When the veneer's are glued on - the sheet measures 1/4" think - then it is run through a press to make sure the glue stick to all surfaces. After pressing the sheets can measure up to 1/16" less than 1/4" thick. None of the hardwood plywood actually measures 1/8" or 1/4". There can also be a difference in thickness between species.

Aromatic Red Cedar Plywood
This is a Great Looking and also a Great Smelling Plywood. As shown in the pictures above this plywood has a reddish tint with white sapwood streaks, it also includes many darker colored knots. In the manufacturing process some of the knots will fall out while cutting the veneers. After gluing the veneer to the core the mill will fill in the large knot holes with a putty (shown in the 2nd picture above) Some of the very small knot holes are left empty. This is not a defect, but simply a characteristic of this type plywood. Just wanted to let you know this before you purchased it.
